As soon as I read the word “Rodent”, my first thought was “I have an excuse to draw Master Splinter”. The idea came to me to draw a younger version of the character, practicing martial art techniques. So why not have some turtle toddlers practicing, too? The nature of Inktober made it so that I had to squeeze pieces in whenever I had a spare hour or so. There was very creative use of layers to accomplish this one…Can you tell which turtle is which?
On Thursdays during this global pandemic, myself and friends from college have been doing a group video conference. The focus each week is to interpret a phrase within a 1-2 hour drawing. This week’s phrase was “The Hulk nobody asked for”. I came up with a Shojou Anime style teenage heart throb Hulk!
